The Arizona State Land Department is holding a public auction for a 23.87-acre parcel near Mayo Clinic Hospital in Phoenix today.
Arizona State University has its eye on that land, with plans to build a health education and bioscience research campus. The Arizona Board of Regents – which operates ASU and its other sister schools, University of Arizona in Tucson and Northern Arizona University in Flagstaff – has filed a 99-year lease application with the state land department on ASU’s behalf.
The minimum bid is $7.25 million.
