[COLUMN] APS doles out $425K to attorney general-elect

I knew that Arizona Public Service really, really wanted to see Mark Brnovich become Arizona’s next attorney general.

Turns out everybody’s favorite electric utility really, really, really. REALLY wanted to see him elected.

The latest Internal Revenue Service report on political contributions – the one that comes a full month after the election is over – shows that APS parent company Pinnacle West kicked $250,000 into the final month of the Republican Attorneys General Association’s independent campaign aimed at getting Brnovich elected. (Props to Mitch Martinson at Arizona’s Politics, for spotting the filing.)

This on top of $175,000 it chipped in a month earlier.
