The 1.26-acre hotel development site First Baptist Church Nashville owns across from the Music City Center remains available after an Arizona-based real estate development and advisory firm failed to enter a contract to buy it.
“We’re pursuing a lot of projects, but that had nothing to do with our ability to move forward on this one,” said Kurt Rosene, a principal with NOVO Development LLC, which reportedly had offered $18 million for that tract.
In late October, church members voted to accept NOVO’s offer to purchase the property at 128 Eighth Ave. S., which once housed the Nashville Rescue Mission and most recently, nonprofit organizations The Next Door and the Christian Women’s Job Corps. But that was pending entry into a contract.
