Two Dewey-Humboldt town council members filed an agenda item to discuss changing the town code so that any member, appointed by the majority of the council, may preside over council meetings. The agenda item was an attempt to solve the alleged ongoing problem of disrespectful and bullying behavior from Mayor Terry Nolan.
Council members Nancy Wright and Dennis Repan brought the proposed change in current town code to the Dec. 9 study session where council took no action on it.
Repan said he felt the working dynamics among council members had become strained, and the change would provide an avenue for discourse among council. He said he previously sat down with Nolan to talk about how best to run meetings, and that didn’t seem to make a difference in Nolan’s actions as mayor, so now he was looking at other alternatives.
