High-voltage power lines spark Surprise residents’ ire

Sarah Ann Ranch residents in southwest Surprise believed their concerns were being ignored about a high voltage APS line on 125-foot poles less than 250 feet south of the development.

Their attempts to contact and discuss an alternative with APS, the Arizona Corporation Commission, developer D.R. Horton and the community HOA hit a dead end.

Following a four-day whirlwind of activity, the residents have found some advocates and, possibly, traction in their efforts to bury or move the power lines across Cactus Road.
