Each customer in the Evergreen Irrigation District will be asked to pitch in $1,019, payable to the city of Casa Grande, to cover their share of a $52,997 repair bill.
The Casa Grande City Council on Monday approved a one-time measure agreeing to evenly split, between the city and the Evergreen homeowners, the cost for the emergency fix made a few months ago to the irrigation system’s well, electrical system and pump.
The homeowners’ half, $26,498, will be divided evenly among the system’s 26 customers.
Sharing the cost of the repairs between the city and the system’s customers is a solution that’s “palatable” to the Evergreen homeowners, Community Services Director Bill Schwind told the council.
