It doesn’t look as though the Arizona Legislature will ever pass a bill to legalize the use of recreational marijuana, so Ryan Hurley and some pot proponents are taking matters into their own hands.
” Ethan Orr was not re-elected, so unfortunately, he will not be bringing his bill forward,” Hurley said. Orr, a first-term Tucson Republican, had estimated legalizing pot across Arizona could generate up to $250 million in annual tax revenue.
It looks like Rep. Mark Cardenas, D-Phoenix, might be filing a decriminalization bill this session, but Hurley isn’t holding his breath.
