Sun City marijuana dispensary cleared to do business

A medical marijuana dispensary – the Sun City area’s first and only one permitted under state law – has received clearance from the Arizona Department of Health Services to begin operations, according to the dispensary’s agent and its medical director.

Laura Oxley, DHS communications director, said the agency is barred by law from identifying its newly approved sites (A.R.S. 36-2810), however, White Mountain Health Center, Inc., president Butch Williams confirmed the department had granted approval following an on-site inspection Dec. 22.

Williams said the facility could be open to patients only as early as Saturday, Dec. 27, depending on the completion of final preparations.
