Since 2000, two Phoenix area suburbs are among the fastest-growing cities in the nation, according to data recently released by the U.S. Bureau of the Census.
Those cities — Surprise and Goodyear — were among the top 10 in population growth since the new millennium.
Surprise ranked fifth in the nation, with a 285 growth percentage. The city held a population of approximately 31,000 at the turn of the millennium; it’s now home to 119,000.
