UA to seek developer for expansion, second Tucson Tech Park

The University of Arizona Tech Park is being expanded and the UA will issue RFIs/RFQs in mid-January for developers, not only to add to that park but also to begin development on a new, second park.

At the existing UA Tech Park, a science and technology center, the university plans to build a hotel on five acres, retail on 75 to 100 acres, and residential units on 50 to 70 acres.

“We’ll issue an RFQ that allows response to any of those three options, or maybe someone will propose to develop all three at once,” said Bruce Wright, associate vice president, Tech Parks Arizona, the entity that manages and develops the parks.
