Although the number of building permits issued by Casa Grande decreased by 34 in 2014 from the prior year, city Planning and Development Director Paul Tice expects an uptick this year.
“For 2015, I would predict that we will issue between 250 to 300 single-family permits,” Tice said. In 2014, the city issued 221 such permits.
A gradual rise in the number of building permits issued, along with an increase in the city’s population, is a trend that’s likely to continue for the next few years, he said, but levels are unlikely to return to the pace seen during the building boom of 2005 and 2006.
