Chandler city manager to retire

Chandler City Manager Rich Dlugas will retire June 1 after more than 20 years with the city.

Dlugas told the Republic Thursday he informed the mayor and City Council last week of his intent to step down later this year.

“It was just getting to the point where, for my wife and I, retirement looked a little nicer every year,” he said.

Dlugas said the decision comes at a time when the city is in good financial shape and staffed with a strong executive team.
