Not so long ago, the Fiesta Bowl scandals, the scandals that would send the executive director of the group to prison, erupted.
They’re still fresh in the public’s mind. Illegal campaign contributions. Self-indulgent birthday parties. Strip-club nights out for the boys. And, at the top of most people’s list, lavish freebies doled out to politicians, notably expensive free tickets to ball games.
Most people still remember that scandal.
But not the Glendale City Council, whose members have received 90 free tickets for events at two taxpayer-funded sports venues, the Gila River Arena and the Camelback Ranch spring-training baseball park.
