Tanger Outlets is expanding again – just in time for the Super Bowl.
Construction has already started at the southwest corner of the factory outlet shopping mall for a mystery anchor tenant, which reportedly will be a major high-end retailer.
The shopping center owner pulled a permit last month at Glendale City Hall for a $1.4 million construction project that occupies 29,533 square feet. With the four stores that opened in November, the total expansion will be 70,000 square feet.
Jessica Reaves, general manager at Tanger Outlets, said her company will likely reveal the identity of the new tenant in a few weeks.
In the meantime, construction crews are hard at work putting the building together, which Reaves says will be 99 percent complete by the end of this month.
