Cave Creek asks to dismiss former town manager’s lawsuit

Cave Creek and its officials have asked a judge to dismiss a complaint filed against the town by former Town Manager Usama Abujbarah.

Abujbarah was fired by the Cave Creek Town Council in a 4-3 vote in 2013.

After his termination, Abujbarah filed a lawsuit against the town and the council in Maricopa County Superior Court.

The suit alleges that details surrounding the vote to terminate Abujbarah’s employment contract violated Arizona’s Open Meeting Law.
