The story of the Southeast Valley can’t be told without a few extended chapters about the clash between the region’s agricultural roots and suburban sprawl.
And while sprawl probably won out long ago, there remain pockets where that conflict continues.
One such place is in Chandler, near Alma School and Germann roads, an area that looks similar to dozens of other neighborhoods in the Chandler and Gilbert areas: Neighborhood commercial centers and rows of neatly arranged houses in master-planned subdivisions.
