Council debates future of Prescott

Although four years in the making, Prescott’s General Plan is just the first step in the city’s strategizing for the future.

That was one of the points that came up repeatedly on Tuesday, Feb. 24, when the Prescott City Council kicked off its series of four workshops on the draft general plan.

Councilman Jim Lamerson led off the council discussion by emphasizing the general nature of the plan.

“It is important to acknowledge that the general plan does not have the effect of law,” Lamerson said. “It’s simply a plan.”
