Glendale city manager among businesswoman awardees, but her troubles persist

Glendale City Manager Brenda Fischer will receive recognition as an outstanding woman in business at an event next month, even though a majority of respondents to an online poll last week said she should face discipline for a recent confrontation.

“It’s an honor to be recognized by the Phoenix Business Journal and I share this accolade with our entire workforce citywide as our successes are due to the strength of a collective work of dedication and commitment from every member of the organization,” she said.

Fischer is one of 30 women who will each receive an award at a March 30 luncheon sponsored by the Journal.
