Solar paying dividends for Pima County

Pima County embarked on a plan to use solar energy to help promote sustainability.

Its 2008 Sustainable Action Plan is still a model.

In 2009, it embarked on an aggressive solar installation plan.

Now it has an update, which it believes shows the decisions are paying off.

“We’re saving about a half million dollars a year,” says Alex Oden, Pima County’s Sustainability Program Coordinator. “With our next set of projects, we’ll save even more. The Solar Status Update, released earlier this month, is full of facts, figures and numbers which the county will use to justify moving forward aggressively.
