Finding common ground was the goal of a Feb. 25 “stakeholders'” meeting on proposed new state legislation on group homes, and by all accounts, the group achieved its objective.
About two dozen city, state, and recovery industry representatives gathered at the State Capitol in Phoenix Wednesday morning for a discussion on House Bill 2563, state Rep. Noel Campbell’s (R-Prescott) proposed bill for tighter regulations on the group home industry.
Although the meeting was closed to the media and the public, several of the attendees said later that the discussion helped to point out that the two sides – the City of Prescott, and the recovery industry – are not as far apart as expected.
