After bringing back his proposal to place billboards at Bell Road and Loop 101, Mark Becker faced a crowd fully against any such proposal during a public hearing on the project March 18 at Arrowhead Elementary School.
Becker, owner of Becker Boards, spoke before a crowd of more than 100 citizens who held signs, chanted and yelled over Becker their disapproval of any billboards near their homes.
The hearing was a chance for Becker to attempt to put to rest to citizens that their residential property values would not go down if the billboards are installed. Becker presented several studies that showed property values would not be affected and he had them on display. He also brought one of the appraisers to the meeting to answer questions about the values.
