Binsbacher declares victory in Peoria City Council race

Almost a full year after entering what became a roller coaster of a race, Bridget Binsbacher declared victory in Tuesday’s election for a seat representing the Mesquite District on the Peoria City Council.

“The response from the community was overwhelming,” Binsbacher said. “They really came through.”

Councilman Ben Toma had not publicly conceded Tuesday night and could not be reached The Republic. Binsbacher was leading by 5 1/2 percentage points with nearly all the votes counted.
