Perhaps the most damning accusation against former Arizona Corporation Commissioner Gary Pierce comes up in the fifth point in a bulleted list on the fourth page of a whistleblower’s letter.
The letter, sent to the Corporation Commission’s chairman and executive director, as well as Attorney General Mark Brnovich, makes sweeping allegations against Pierce, including speeding up the filing process for a corporation that would support his favored candidates and plots to remove a staffer.
But the bullet points on page 4, and the allegations within, could have wider implications. The whistleblower alleges Pierce met with Arizona Public Service CEO Don Brandt or his predecessor Don Robinson more than a dozen times, seven of which occurred while APS had rate proceedings before the commission.
