Creating a pipeline of skilled workers and diversifying the economy will help Arizona keep lowering unemployment rates and increasing wages, according to a federal labor department official.
Deputy Secretary of Labor Chris Lu visited Phoenix Thursday, dropping by an economic development meeting at the Greater Phoenix Chamber of Commerce to talk about collaborations to improve workforce development before touring a job training center and meeting with Phoenix Mayor Greg Stanton.
While Arizona and the U.S. are out of the depths of the recession, there’s no easy answer for how to keep growing wages and jobs, Lu said in an interview with the Arizona Capitol Times.
