Prescott Valley Economic Development Manager Greg Fister spoke to a group of local business owners, last week, regarding the latest developments in the retail world.
“We’ve done real well from a square-footage standpoint. These days, we’re holding onto the dollars,” Fister said.
Fister mentioned how the recession caused the town to take a 30 percent hit to its sales tax base, beginning in 2008.
Since the end of that time, the town has added 35 new commercial buildings totaling 984,000 square-feet.
