Phoenix councilmembers asked for their positions on transportation tax increase

Phoenix voters will decide a $30 billion-plus transportation plan funded in part by a sales-tax increase after the City Council on Tuesday approved sending it to the ballot.

If the tax passes, $16 million of the city’s general fund will be reallocated to hire police officers annually.
