Pinal County’s unemployment showed little change from December to January, even with post-holiday layoffs, according to numbers released Thursday by the state.
The county’s 7 percent is fourth lowest in Arizona. Statewide, the jobless rate is 6.6 percent, down one click from December.
While far behind Maricopa County’s 5.7 percent, which matches the national rate, Pinal’s numbers are improved from two years ago when unemployment was nearly 9 percent and much better than five years ago, when unemployment was double-digit.
And 7 percent can work in Pinal’s favor.
