Sen. Pierce’s son dies from crash injuries

Arizona Sen. Steve Pierce’s son has died from injuries received earlier this week in a car accident in Phoenix, according to Rep. Karen Fann.

Steve Pierce II was in a serious car accident Wednesday evening, March 18, and was admitted to John C. Lincoln hospital.

The 37-year-old computer business owner from Phoenix suffered a head injury, ruptured spleen and broken pelvis, Sen. Pierce said Thursday.

His father also said Thursday that his son would be in a medically-induced coma for an unknown period of time.
