[SUNDAY FEATURE] Gosar won’t, but who will challenge McCain?

U.S. Rep. Paul Gosar, R-Ariz., won’t challenge John McCain for the Senate next year, nor does the three-term congressman plan to retire anytime soon despite having hip surgery.

Gosar told The Arizona Republic he’s “absolutely” running for re-election to his western Arizona seat in 2016.

Serious campaigning for the state’s nine House seats is still far away but already potential candidates are jockeying for position in competitive districts, even as a looming Supreme Court decision threatens to scramble district lines and political futures.

A few ladder-climbers have their eye on Gosar’s conservative 4th Congressional District.
