TEP proposes slashing solar savings, a ‘devious’ plan, says Rose Law Group Senior Partner Court Rich

In a filing to the Arizona Corporation Commission Wednesday, Tucson Electric Power is proposing to slash the amount it pays for excess power from rooftop panels.

If approved, the proposal would cut down the average monthly savings of a typical solar system by roughly 22 percent.

The proposal would only apply to new solar customers. It wouldn’t affect ratepayers who have installed solar systems installed by June 1.
