This week’s Soundoff question: What is the most significant capital project in the works for your city this year?
Avondale
Avondale’s historic core will see significant capital improvements in 2015. A $3.2 million project on Central Avenue will create a landscaped multimodal corridor to enhance the aesthetics and safety of the road. This project comes on the heels of a recent $2.8 million water and sewerline replacement project serving businesses and neighborhoods in the area. Also, along Dysart Road from Van Buren Street to Western Avenue, another major capital project will bury unsightly power poles, improve street lighting, construct new sidewalks and pavements and add bike lanes.
