Greasewood Flat auctions off Western collection

Sold for $9,500, an anti-aircraft quad gun was among the items auctioned off Saturday at Greasewood Flat in Scottsdale.

The hideaway bar, which closed at the end of March, planned to auction off its extensive collection of Western antiques and decor until 6 p.m.

The inoperable 50-caliber anti-aircraft gun was among the top-selling items, along with a 1936 Ford pickup truck, sold for $8,000.

The bar’s iconic welcome sign, which greeted visitors pulling into the dusty parking lot, sold for $11,000.

Hundreds of spectators gathered at the dusty outdoor saloon to bid one last hurrah and, if they were lucky, nab a piece of Greasewood history.
