Bids for a GC are expected to be sought at the end of summer for the $19.2M Maricopa County Southwest Justice Center, which is in the design development stage for 105th Avenue and Van Buren in Avondale.

The architect is Architekton, the landscape architect is Moore/Swick Partnership and the civil engineer is Dibble Engineering.

The target date for breaking ground is March 2016 with a 14-month construction schedule.

The 66KSF design/bid/build project, which is designed to be expanded in the future for some Superior Court space, will be masonry construction with steel roof framing and windows that include a ceramic tile surround and metal panel solar protection. The structure is expected to be Green Globe certified for sustainability, said Joe Salvatore, project manager at Architekton.
