The former Stingray Sushi restaurant in Old Town Scottsdale, which has sat vacant for the last eight months, is set to get a major facelift and a new dining concept from the restaurateurs behind El Hefe and Dierks Bentley’s Whiskey Row.
Plans for a restaurant called Farm & Craft at 4302 N. Scottsdale Road — where Stingray closed last fall — were recently submitted to the Scottsdale’s Development Review Board.
The redevelopment project will give the 2,400-square-foot building a fresh look, including tall glass doors and an outdoor bar. Phoenix architect Cathy Hayes, who has done work for popular restaurants like La Grande Orange, Arrogant Butcher and Modern Steak, submitted the designs on March 30, according to city records.
It will be the third brand for Scottsdale-based Riot Hospitality Group, a company formed in 2010 by a group of nightclub and restaurant operators.
