Salt River Project officials will meet privately Tuesday morning with their attorney to discuss legal issues with the rate increase approved in February.
SRP approved a 3.9 percent overall rate increase in February, along with new fees for solar customers. The move drew heated protests from solar-power advocates and a lawsuit from California-based SolarCity Corp., and many customers now question whether SRP officials gave an honest description of the rate hike they implemented.
The elected leaders are likely to discuss the possibility of refunding about $2.6 million customers were charged this month that some SRP officials said should not have been on their bills. SRP added the executive session with the attorney to the agenda for a board committee meeting scheduled Tuesday.
