A U.S. Senate panel is scheduled to take up a measure that would declare illegal a casino under construction by the Tohono O’odham Nation on tribal land off 93rd and Northern avenues.
The Senate Committee on Indian Affairs has a business meeting scheduled 2:30 p.m. Eastern Time Wednesday to discuss S 152, which would “prohibit gaming activities on certain Indian land in Arizona until the expiration of certain gaming compacts.”
The panel is expected to send the measure on to the full Senate for a vote there.
