Call, e-mail, sit down and write an old-fashioned letter to the attention of Gov. Doug Ducey. That was the message Tohono O’odham Nation Chairman Ned Norris Jr. delivered to the crowd under the tent at 95th and Northern avenues, where the Desert Diamond West Valley is now under construction.
There is no work stoppage, and Norris vowed the work would continue, that he and his people are “in the right.” In the end, Norris believes the courts will determine his nation has a right to open the casino, and the governor, state attorney general, and gaming commission director will be ordered to comply with a federal court ruling.
