Twenty years ago, companies looking for a place to relocate were content to make their decision after a brief conversation and a handshake.
“It used to be that a call would come in or we’d seek out a project in the marketplace and a good ol’ boy network, back-of-the-room handshake deal would take place,” said Chris Camacho, president of Greater Phoenix Economic Council. “That was generally the way things worked back in the ’70s and ’80s and ’90s.”
Today’s environment is different.
