Last week, Tesla Motors unveiled Powerwall, its new home battery that could change the way we consume electricity.
The new product charges using electricity from solar panels, allowing homes and businesses to use that energy during evenings or in case of a power outages. It can also charge from the grid, so even without solar panels, users have a backup power option if the grid fails.
Powerwall offers independence from the utility grid and the security of an emergency backup, according to its website.
Some say the battery could change the way electricity is produced, transported and consumed, which could be a game changer in the real estate industry.
It’s still early in the game to see how the new technology might fit into the homebuilding market, but to learn more about the possibilities, click here.
