Historically, The Arizona Republic has vigorously, and in my opinion, appropriately advocated for transparency and accountability from Arizona’s policy makers.
With that in mind, I was surprised to see the Republic suggest that such transparency and accountability be eliminated and that the public election of the Arizona Corporation Commission be expunged and replaced by political appointment.
