When it comes to business-friendliness, Phoenix is somewhere near the middle, according to an annual list from MarketWatch.com.
The business website released its rank of the 100 most business-friendly cities, and Phoenix lands at No. 59 — just ahead of El Paso, Texas, and Providence, Rhode Island.
Tucson, the only other Arizona city on the list, ranked No. 85.
Cities were graded based on scales measuring business climate, company performance and economic output, then assigned a cumulative score of all three. Phoenix received a business climate score of 366 out of 800, company performance score of 481 out of 800 and economic output score of 309 out of 740 for a combined score of 1,156.
