A southern Arizona tribe that is building a $200 million West Valley casino filed a lawsuit in federal court Monday in response to the state’s opposition to its gaming hall.
The Tohono O’odham Nation is asking the court for a preliminary injunction that would allow the tribe to open the casino at Loop 101 and Northern Avenue by the end of this year.
The lawsuit names as defendants Gov. Doug Ducey, Arizona Attorney General Mark Brnovich and Arizona Department of Gaming Director Daniel Bergin.
