Another rejection of Glendale billboard proposal

The city’s Planning Commission has recommended unanimously against approval by the City Council of an application by an outdoor billboard company to prepare a pair of the structures off Loop 101 near its intersection with Bell Road.

The panel’s 7-0 vote followed pleas from nearly two-dozen area residents to reject the application by Becker Boards for an amendment to the planned area development for two 85-foot-high billboards on a 7.4-acre parcel of undeveloped land. The site is part of a 26.1-acre site slated for office buildings.
