Arizona Coyotes President Anthony LeBlanc wryly noted that he was still in his office at Gila River Arena on Thursday, as the team’s attorneys prepared to file legal claims against Glendale for voiding their contract.
While the future of the team’s home is uncertain, they’ve got a place to stay for now and say they want to stay.
The Coyotes said they were moving swiftly to counter Glendale’s vote on Wednesday to terminate the 15-year, $225 million agreement, while city officials said also want the team to continue playing in the arena, but they plan to send a letter to the Coyotes to officially confirm their decision.
