Despite lawsuit, WinCo plans to open this month in Surprise

If the nearly two-year saga of WinCo expanding to Surprise taught the public anything, it’s that no timeline is set in stone.

But the Boise, Idaho-based grocer is confident enough to announce it plans to open its 85,000-square-foot location on Bell Road just west of Loop 303 June 25.

WinCo spokesman Michael Read said though there is a lawsuit still out there against the store’s site plan, he doesn’t expect it to impact a simple opening day.
