Companies that require large amounts of water to run their business will have to do more than just pay for the city’s supply if they want to locate in Chandler.
They will have to go out and find some of the water themselves.
Under a new policy adopted by the Chandler City Council, and heralded by some as one of the most innovative steps taken by a municipality in Arizona, high-volume water users that want to do business in the city will be required to purchase additional water on the open market to assure they’ll have what they need.
