Peoria OKs water project to aid development

The city council has approved a plan to build a water-transmission line linking the municipal system with the distribution system now serving the Vistancia development in the northwestern portion of Peoria.

The council voted 7-0 vote Tuesday night to authorize a partial amendment to the Lake Pleasant Heights Development agreement, which was previously amended in 2005. The change allows the city and its partners on the project, which include several housing developers, to proceed with planning, design and construction of the Lone Mountain Water Line. The 36-inch pipeline will run essentially from Loop 303 to Lake Pleasant Parkway along a route basically paralleling Lone Mountain Parkway.
