Extra wet weather in the Colorado River Basin has raised water levels at Lake Mead and Lake Powell enough to reduce water delivery cuts next year for Arizona and Las Vegas, according to projections released by the Bureau of Reclamation.
A year of extremely low snowpack in the Rocky Mountains previously had the bureau predicting that reservoir levels would dip dangerously close to levels that trigger mandatory supply cuts to the area, reported Annie Snider, E&E News writer.
