In a memoire of President Reagan, a friend described visiting the retired president in California when he was in advanced Alzheimer’s Disease. Reagan pointed out a miniature White House on a shelf in his library, saying (paraphrasing), I had something to do with this but I don’t remember what.
Children of the 60s grew up with musician Glen Campbell, who now, like Reagan, is in the advanced stages of Alzhiemer’s. His last song is “I’m Not Gonna Miss You.” Were he shown a guitar, he probably wouldn’t know what it is.
We’ve got to find a cure!
