Arizona gained commitments for more than 18,000 higher-paying jobs in the past 12 months and $1.5 billion in business spending, the state’s business recruiting agency reported Monday.
The numbers, which include jobs and spending that hasn’t yet happened, beat the Arizona Commerce Authority’s goals for the fiscal year that ends this month, said Sandra Watson, president and CEO of the agency, during her summary of the year for the board of directors. The expected jobs will pay on average $51,800.
